Ian Dyer was born on a council estate in Stoke-on-Trent in 1964. He is a poet and songwriter, who after a promising start to his education, suddenly lost interest in his studies after stepping up to high school.

He often played truant and instead worked on market stalls and ice cream vans to pay for his addiction following his local football team  Stoke City, both at home games and following his heroes play away.

With the way that literature has changed over the course of time ie. text messaging and social media Ian doesn’t conform to any outdated kind of previous literacy rules.

Thanks to the internet, Ian’s poetry has been given worldwide exposure including television, film, documentaries and printed media.
